| I just got a new Calcutta TE 400. What a reel. I worked a 9" Grandma all day and it didn't even feel like it had a lip on it. It casts about 30% farther than a CT 400. I didn't think it was possible to make a reel this good. I like it so much that I called Thorne Bros. and ordered a 7'6" Diamondback jerkbait with titanium guides to put it on. Anyone have this rod ? I have heard lots of good things about it here. |

I just purchased a Thorne Bros. Diamondback 8' MH working it with a Daiwa Millionaire 300z and just love it. I have only fished with it once but it is extremely smooth. I am curious if you have fished the millionaire 300z and could tell the difference between that and the TE. You will love the diamondback. I work mysetup with just about everything.

| The TE's drags are the largest you will find on any musky reel available. More surface area means more control. It does tend to stick right off the shelf like most standard Calcuttas. Adding or removing spring washers and fine sanding of the steel drag plates will eliminate most problems. This problem occurs with alot of other reels as well and can be remedied the same way.I also use Shimano Dartanium drag washers in my 6500HCL Big Game reels and they work great. |

| My wife (bless her heart), got me a 400TE as an early birthday present. My birthday isn't until December, buy I probably won't be using it too much then. This reel is incredible! It makes it so much easier on your body when your throwing big cranks all day. I might have to save over the winter for another one!
