Posts: 567 | One of these days ! --Just bought a business and can't get free to go, Our last 2 summer trips were marred by bad weather, with enough wind to actually swamp and sink a camp boat. Don't know many who fish the manitou in late fall. I know the upcoming years I sure hope to. MD

Posts: 567 | for the 2nd year in a row we hit terrible weather , water temps were raising and fishing was good the day we arrived (insert fishing joke here) then big front with heavy heavy winds (30 plus MPH) came in on sunday , along with much colder weather , water temps dropped 2 degrees in 1 day. Wind continued for most of the week. Our group of 16 or so which included 10-12 guys that know the lake very well struggled to catch anything to speak of. Our tourney winning fish for the week was a 50.5 followed by a 48.5 after that it dropped off big time. I think 1 44 and several 38-40's. Numbers were way down , around 25-30 total for the week. But 2 years in a row big girls were MIA. Had a good friend of mine who came into camp 1 day after we left and caught a 48 , saw 3 in the 50 inch class the 1st day in camp, and raised 20-30 the 1st 2-3 days of fishing. He said the weather was calm and warming. Then later in the week they got clouds and wind and the fish dissappeared . I swear those fish like sunny days up there. MD

Posts: 22 Location: Lower Manitou Lake, Ont. | ManitouDan is right on with his report - if he is talking about early to mid oct. We experianced the same thing and we are about 15 miles south of where his brother has a place. This fishing was slow to moderate for most of Oct. compared to years past. We had some deer hunters have some good luck in early november. After they bagged their deer they tried some muskie fishing right around the camp. The weather was very cold, so they mostly trolled, but they did put a few nice ones in the boat. Overall for the year the musky fishing was pretty good. It's time to put the gear away, but I already can't wait until next summer.

Posts: 22 Location: Lower Manitou Lake, Ont. | Hey Slink19, Slink, Kris, KE, Why are you using four different usernames to post about the weatherstation? Don't you think the guys on this site will catch on that it is only one person. If you are going to advertise that way, maybe you should come up with more creative usernames? I was going through all the posts being new to this board and noticed that you mentioned a portage lake where some guys caught 51 muskies in one day. I know that you are talking about syndicate lake and I have the only legal boat cache in the lake, so how are you guys fishing it? Not only that you need to cross calder lake to get to syndicate and I also have the only boat cache for that lake, are you using my boats? - which is not legal. I also just booked a couple for next year and they mentioned that donna in an email told them to fish sydicate? Why is she/you guys advertising something you don't have. Seems like a misleading way to due business. I thought I was locking the boats so the few cabin owners in the area wouldn't use them, I didn't know I had to lock them so another resort wouldn't use them? Kris, Email me when you have a chance at [email protected] Maybe you should email Gateway north also, I guess you guys have been using Kamini and he has the only cabin and I again have the only legal boat cache.
