I carry over 100 with me and throw on average 5. A lot of times its 1-3 different lures. If I'm trolling I'll switch things up a little more, but I don't troll much anymore (horsepower restrictions are almost as stupid as "no trolling").

some times its the type of blade on the bucktail.some times the color. some times its the way the skirt flows. as for jerk baits the lake i fish the most its walleye colors or just black. next for me would be topwaters, lots of differnt action but most important is the sound they create in the water. icould go on but i say whats the harm in being prepared to increase your chances. if you have room in your boat , go for it . just remember as the water temps go down so do your chances if ya fall in the water its the time of year where youll want to keep your boat alot more orginised and that might mean leaving a box at home

Depends if your going to troll and cast that day and what time of the year it is. I used to change up way to much and would get crap for it from most of the partners that I was fishing with. Now I throw about 3 baits over the course of a night. Buctail (DCG or Single blade), Suick, Triple D. Then during the season of topwater that will get into the mix or bulldog will find time in the water.

I still like to buy baits, bring on the swap meet,

I probably throw anywhere from 3-10 in a given day. It depends on how well I know the water I am fishing. If I am going to a lake for the first time, and there isn't much info out there on that lake, I will probably end up throwing 10. On the lakes I know the tendencies of, it will be around 3. I have a small Lakewood box that I will generally fill with what I feel are the right baits for the lake and time of year and leave the other 500 baits at home.

On my first trip to LOTW this summer, the big fish trigger for my boat partner, was my switching of lures. His 50 and 52 inchers both came while he was fishing, and I was digging for new baits to throw. Good news is I was pretty quick on the net.

Unfortunately, while I have 100's of lures, I tend to throw about 3-5 in a day. I tend to get stuck using what has worked on a particular lake in the past and can't get myself to switch out -- lose my confidence. I'm sure I'm missing out on a lot of action for not trying more things.

I usually take my main box, a Flambeau Maximzer, cause there's room in the boat and I don't feel secure leaving it in the truck at the ramp. However, I usually have 4-5 rods rigged with: Super D, Blade, Suick, Topwater and Crank. I seldom change out unless it goes from sunny to cloudy or vise-versa.
Since I usually fish Shad based lakes, I do have a few planos with Perch patterns that I leave at home until I head up North. At those times I usually leave a few of my Shad patterns at home.
