Posts: 61 Location: Sioux Lookout On Canada | I plan on getting a replica of the musky I caught on August 2, 2008 on Lac Seul. Who can do the job? who would have a mould this big? Any suggestions? Neil Michelin

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Contact Rick lax, Lax taxidermy. He'll be able to help. I have a replica from Lax, and it's stunning; a perfect replica of my big girl. http://www.laxreproduction.com/

Posts: 386 | I'd sure like to see a picture of your fish that is over 60"!!! Not that I doubt you, but a picture is worth a 1000 words, isn't it? Edited by gopackgo 10/10/2008 10:13 AM

I wonder what they do in terms of a replica when the fish was bigger than the molds they have? And what about that head?! Good God! Can you imagine seeing THAT behind your bait?

I would reccomend Joe Fittante as well; however Rick Lax does a great job too. My dad is a taxidermist and sends all his musky replicas to be done by Joe. P.S. Impressive Catch!!! -Jake

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Check out Douglas taxidermy in Canada in addition to those mentioned. I had Joe F. do a fish and he amazed me. This fish was caught by our party twice over 3 years. He near perfectly matched the individual markings from the photographs of the fish. I'll be going to him again, no doubt. Because I am shopping, I have been looking at the Lax website, and am very impressed with what I see there too. http://www.fittantereplicas.com/ http://douglastaxidermy.com/ Edited by Reef Hawg 10/11/2008 8:51 AM

Posts: 61 Location: Sioux Lookout On Canada | Steve Worrall posted a pic of the fish. He should have more. Steve Heiting from Musky Hunter is doing a story on it for Musky Hunter winter issue. What is your email? I will send you a vertical photo so you can judge the length against my height. I do not have my photos since I am at work right now but email your address and I will send it to you probably Sunday or Monday night. Cheers. Go to general discussions...scroll down to Big Fish... 1st page has a photo of me. Check out the expression on my face. Check the dates in August 10,11,12 somewhere in there. I did not know that my photo was posted until I joined this site. Ask any questions my man, I love sharing info Neil Michelin Edited by muskynorth 10/10/2008 4:02 PM

I dout either one of those guys has a mount of a 60", your probaly going to have to settle with something close to it. As long as its close and looks good, doesnt matter who you pic .

If it doesn't matter because they are all great I'd go with the guy who was generous enough to give away TWO free reproductions on this site this year and will give another away this winter. I hope it's me that wins! Rick Lax Reproductions.

Mike Fibertech in Niswa MN, does not advertise much but does great muskie work for muskies inc etc I have a 54" and a 31" walleye, both first rate and he is quick turn around. Stands by work 110% and if you don't like it he will do it again.

You'll have no shortage of replica makers wanting to be associated with your fish. Take the Free One. Hell charge them:)

Joe doesn't have a mold that big, call him he'll tell ya. Lax has molds to 60", and made a 64" for a guy, call him he'll tell ya. I haven't called Artistic yet.

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | OK, we have it now, I think. It's obvious Rick Lax and Fittante lead the way in Muskie reproductions, and Rick Lax has the larger molds.
