Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | DH Buc and I beat the water to a froth this weekend on Crescent Lake. I had a small legal follow early Saturday. DH Buc caught a very fat 48"er shortly after noon on Saturday, to make it a very good weekend. Where was this fish during 'Da Hodag? Posts: 1455 Location: Kronenwetter, WI | Okay...our family realized our dream last summer when we bought a cabin on a musky lake in the St. Germain area....over the past two seasons lost 3 fish and have had my a#@ handed to me over and over and over...by god, I couldn't even get follow most times...actually took to fishing area lakes as the norm and checked in at our lake now and again to check the action... ....well Sat PM started like most of my outings on our lake...NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING for four hours...then...FLASH!! a follwing fish flashed off....OKAY by god, I'm catching that thing...mark on GPS and pushed back into the wind to the exact spot... SPLASH goes the anchor...that's right...if that's the only active fish in this god forsaken lake I'm sitting my arse right here 'till I catch it....cast a bait...change baits...cast...change....pull sucker off some weeds....cast...20 minutes later....CLICK CLICK CLICK...sucker goes nutz! There's that fish chasing the sucker round and round!!...off she swims...DARN IT!!! ...15 minutes later and FINALLY a solid hook up on our lake on a HI-FIN Fooler....after tangling furiously around the sucker line and making a big mess, she made her way into the net...chunky 36"er who looked like she'd been eating well, and i finally had a fish on our lake---FINALLY!-----Today same spot, second fish barley legal....not big fish, but they sure are PURRRDEEE Edited by Cowboyhannah 10/19/2008 9:02 PM Attachments ---------------- Lost Fish 1.jpg (124KB - 110 downloads) Lost Fish2b.jpg (135KB - 98 downloads)

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Congrats Rick! I spent majority of last week and part of the weekend at the last PWT(Professional Walleye Trail) event ever. Had an awesome time and sad to see it go. Looking forward to the 2009 walleye tournaments. Definitely looking forward to PI this coming week!

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Only fished about 2-3 hrs on saturday up in Land O Lakes, house chores done so we can give it hard this weekend for the PI Outting. We had one sucker head dented by teeth and that was it. Gorgeous day saturday. We're definately done with turnover. Palmer has cleared up greatly and has a surface temp of 51.5°

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | With the lakes finally settling down from turnover fishing has picked up nicely. Muskies and walleyes moving to the deep water haunts they'll hold for most of the fall. Hard bottom and deep weed areas both producing as deep water baitfish stage for their fall spawning run. Bulldawgs, Triple D's working, and live bait presentations should be producing as well. Look for the bait!!! Locate schools of bait with your electronics and fish not only that area, but the nearest structure as well. Here's some pics from the last few days which include a fat 51" released by Jeff Piaza while fishing with Mark. Posts: 238 Location: Rhinelander | Three mid to low 30's fish and two nice pike, one 30.5 and the other 29. All on suckers. The pike hit 13-14 inchers. Two quick follows casting and that's it. Even tho 3 fish at the boat, (all water released, I have enough pic's of 30" fish) I am not satisfied. Haven't seen a 40" plus fish in almost two weeks. Sucker fishing really isn't my thing, but that's what seems to be working. I must be doing something wrong.....I haven't lost so many good solid rips on suckers in a long time. Sunday had a hit that ripped the clicker for an honest 5 seconds, stopped, I picked up the rod, felt the fish's weight and turn to run. Set hard and nothing.........I am under 30% for the year on suckers.

Posts: 605 Location: Marshfield, WI | I had to work this weekend, so I went out with my friend Jon on Thursday. We were fishing an area my friend had a nice follow the previous Sunday. 2nd time through the area, the fish hammers a jerko. After a good fight, Jon is able to get her in the net. Fish tied my personal best at 45". Krishna Attachments ---------------- 45.jpg (143KB - 97 downloads)

Posts: 1169 Location: New Hope MN | I tried the big pond (mille lacs) and got skunked! pounded that water over and over. Not even a follow. There were so many guys fishing muskies it was insane. I bagged a 38" pike though... on the figure 8 too (nice strike). I tried trolling and casting between 8-14 ft on the rocks. I suggest trying deeper, because i combed every inch of the shallow stuff.

Posts: 880 Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | Fished the Ironman Tournament on Pewaukee on Saturday. The blue skies and high pressure in the morning made it tough to see fish but by mid afternoon things started to rock, when the clouds moved in, and the fish numbers jumped. A 49.5' was caught within 200' of were our boat was throwing bucktails. At the awards payout the total was around 19 fish were caught. A double 38's took 1st, the 49.5 was 2nd, followed by a 42,41,40.....to round off the payouts. The word around the dinner was that the 49.5"r cost the $10,000.00 by a 1/2 inch and thier boat also lost a legal fish earlier in the day. We trolled up a short in the 1st 15 minutes and didn't see anything else all day. 50 some boats entered. Good time with everyone.... Bruce

Posts: 294 Location: Bloomer, Wi | My weekend goes back a while starting on the 12th. My brother and I were at Red Deer Lodge on LOTW. We were deer hunting and doing little musky fishing. Here is the 2 39"s that I caught plus a 38" pike and a 6pt I shot (which is the first buck Ive ever shot with a gun). And Chads 38" musky and 39" pike and 8 pt and big sheds he found. Hunting was tough, fishing was pretty good if we could get out when we weren't hunting. I caught the last fish by myself while my bro slept in. It hit on the 3rd figure 8 as fast as I could do the figure 8. Kickin minnows, 11" curly sues, and the swim n joe, lures of choice.
