A little update from PI. Last nights dinner included about 30 guys with Ghoti getting a fish, a 39" yesterday. There was a 46 caught as well, more on that fish Saturday. From the sounds of it, the fish are moving and opportunities have presented themselves. Water temps are high 40's/low 50's with most lakes relatively clear.

Stay tuned for more updates this evening.

I like that Ghoti guy. He's probably happy I'm not there so his beer is safe.
He always has a nice big cooler of cold beer. One time I drank a bunch of it.

Kevin

Can't play tomorrow. The weather is going to suck.

Skyview Lodge is treating us like royalty, the food is great, and the advice on the muskie fishing excellent. Adam , Howie, and the staff have been stellar as usual.

It rained all day today as the temps hovered at about 45 degrees. The fish were moving, but tough to get to commit; even to suckers. Several were lost, and at best count we have 8 for the event so far up to 46". Many of the attendees are just now arriving, so expect better reports tomorrow if the weather treats us well.

Rumors, comments, and observations:

Norm Wild has new Guiding signs for his truck. Genius.
Saint has a new set of water wings. He can't see his pizza when he has them on.
Sue had MuskieFIRST knit beanies made. Warm, and made Bob look like he slaughters Cheerios. At least that's what I heard.
Merv can net a fish and an entire weedbed in one swoop.
Adam is going to his Island tomorrow night at 3 AM. It'll be snowing. And dark. He said, " No problem, I only have a few miles to travel by water."
Howie is optimistic about the fishing. He's ALWAYS optimistic about the fishing!
Slamr is subbing for one half of the Rumbleknot team. He's doing OK.

Watch for much more tomorrow evening or Sunday, depending on internet access.

Did Bob break his hand on that one? Is Slamr consuming Jeremy's share of the beer? That I would like to see. Sounds like you guys are off to a good start. Continue to enjoy.

You're not really familiar with the Preque Isle outing are you. I have a hangover this morning from a P.I. outing. The last time I went was '06.

Kevin

Remember these WI fish are just trophies, not monsters.

The Okuma/Presque Isle outing was a huge success, officially ending with 20 muskies in the net, ending a very successful MuskieFIRST Outings season. A 46" fish took top honors, and Krishna was hotter than a $2 pistol today, boating 4 up to 44".

Everyone had a great time, especially Norm.

If you missed any of the Outings this year, just look back at the reports and we are betting you won't miss them all next year!!

It was very very fun. The weather sucked, but we had plenty of chances and re-chances on suckers and lures. Our group of 4 on High Lake, lost 2 fish twice, one was a whopper, pushing 50. Saw a sucker tail dance 20' and blew up a Morrum on a hook set.

The hospitality, the food, the friendship and the well organized event was again excellent. Looking forward to a 4 event next year.

The trip home was long but uneventful. It took us a little over 15 hours with the only stops made were for fuel and coffee.
I've attended a few of the other outings all of which have been well organized and fun, but the P.I. Outing is by far the best one. If anybody is thinking about going to any of the MuskieFirst Outings and can ony attend one, this is the one you need to attend.
The staff at Skyview is great, the food is awesome and the beer is cold!!!
Thanks to Okuma for the reel that was given for the big fish and all the shirts and hats for everyone that attended.
Thanks to everyone at MuskieFirst, without you guys none of this would even be possible.
The camaraderie is priceless.

Thanks to the staff at SkyView, M1st, Okuma, and everybody who came for the outing!!!!! We had some fish up, never really got a chance at puttin' any steel to em' though. I feel I could have performed a little better myself, my bar tabs were amazingly light this year!!!!!!!
