Subject: OR-18 Clips?

I saw some previous posts about upsizing planar board clips to the OR-18 size. I picked up 2 the other night to put on my offshore boards. Do I need only one of these clips per board now, or one OR-18 and keep the other standard clip on as well? Just wondering, since I was having problems with the boards poppin' off the other day while using the standard clips.

Thanks in advance!

I never upgraded the rear clip. If you have a problem with the rear clip slipping, I've seen some guys put a staylock on there instead of a clip.

I just used one on my board and left the other one as-is and did a loop on the clip with the line. The OR-18 is good to go just snapping it in. I have not pulled a lot of heavy trolling lures yet so I may need to loop the line on the OR-18 once I troll some of the harder pulling lures. Sorry I can't be of more help. I usually cast.

I just use the 18 on the front clip and leave the rear clip as is...pulled Jakes w/o problem.

I use the Red OR16 on front with a orange OR19 on the back. The red OR16 has the pin in the middle to keep from losing a board. Should have used that today when I wasn't paying attention and lost a board.

I use the OR18 in the front then the switch out the black clip in the black with a red clip. We did have a problem the other day with one board slipping on the line when it took a nose dive, that board had a OR18 in front and a black in the back, I switched it out for a red in the back and problem was solved.
