Hey all. Made my first, full, complete entry into a fishing log today. Wind speed, direction, moon phase, position, lutres, spots, baraometer, water carity, weather three days prior to today, etc....

Not sure how many of you guys use these tools religiously but I am going to start.

I got the data on one side with a map of my lake on the reverse, so I mark the days data with the actual places fished on the back sheet.

Wish I started 2 years ago!

It should be time well spent....not to mention fun to look back on in the coming years.
I've kept a log for walleye fishing (I do a lot more of that than muskies.....) for many years and it's interesting to see the patterns that do and don't repeat.
Best of luck with it!

I've done it for about the last 15 years. Really haven't seen any real patterns emerge except the stuff we all know: East winds really DO suck. Wind is better than no wind, moonrise is a good time to be fishing, any time anything changes, the fishing often does too. Which, I might add, cuts both ways. If you're having a great day, and the sun comes out? Bye great day.

The coolest part for me is that when I read the log I actually remember the day and the fish.

One thing I don't do is write any sort of log on tough days, which may in fact be a good idea.
