Subject: Just got back from vermilion

And I got nothin...
this was the first time we had ever been on vermilion. We stayed on the Far Eastern side of the lake most of the time, in big bay, we tried everything, for walleye we tried spinners, lindy rigs, and cranks, we didn’t even get a bite. For muskie we stayed around the islands, mostly casting jerk baits and cranks, we didn’t see any fish saturday, but sunday, around strawberry island, just before we where getting ready to go, I got several follows, mostly from pike, but there where two that I'm sure where muskie, a couple of the pike tried to get the lure, and missed, but the muskie would just follow, I would do a figure 8 and they would just swim off. What am I doing wrong?
we are going to try going back up there a few more times this year, once or twice more this month, and then maybe again next month. Any advice, for walleye or muskie would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, yeah for the walleye we where fishing in 15-20feet of water most of the time, and we where using crawlers and leaches for bait.
Thanks for your help,

Ryan
