Posts: 128 | Fished the Hayward tournament. Lost Land on Friday.....High skies, a few early morning follows and then nothing...off to Spider. Same thing, nothing seen. Saturday fished Spider and had a few lazy follows by small fish. 3:00 hit and it was game on! 5 very aggressive fish showed their faces but only managed one. 39.5". Sunday= nothing. I would assume that a 48" and a 39" on Spider won the tournament.

Location: Athens, Ohio | Got a short fish out of Middle Island Creek In West Va. About 28 or so but it was the first muskie I've caught from that water in about a dozen trips so it was well worth it. No surprise, it was the Bengal color Big Game twitcher that he nailed right at the boat. Bengals lost but this one won. m

Posts: 103 | Saturday I fished in the morning for a couple of hours and raised one small fish. Sunday was one of the most exciting and most heartbreaking day I have ever had. I started off in the morning and I had one mid thirty inch follow and lost about a 30 inch after the fish hit boatside, both on suicks. I fished for a couple more hours and never saw a thing. Then the clouds moved in and I put a 38 inch in the boat and raised about a 40 inch, both on Mag Super D's. I fished for another half hour with no action so I decided to troll bucktails over deep sand grass. I put one rod in the rodholder and was about to put the other one in when a fish creamed the rod I was holding. The fish fought hard and I thought for sure it was a 50 inch fish. After about 3 minnutes I finally saw the fish and it was about a 45 to 46 inch Northern. The thing was HUGE. The fish made two runs down to the bottom and I could not stop him even with 80lbs power pro. After about a 5 minnute fight I finally got him next to the boat, so I grabbed the net and was reaching to net him when he thrashed and the hook popped out. I then trolled for another hour and put a 31 in the boat. I then went in and asked my dad if he wanted to go out for an hour or so, he said yes so we went out and on our second spot, the bucktail I was casting hit a brick wall. I fought the fish for about 4 minutes and got it close enough to try and net it. My dad reached out and got half the fish in when the fish shook and the hook got caught in the net and ripped the hook out of the fishes mouth. The Musky was the biggest fish I have ever seen. We guessed it to be around 52 to 53 inches. I felt like quitting fishing forever after that. We fished for another hour after that with no luck. After that I brought my dad in and my mom then wanted to go in the boat, so I fished for another hour and put a 44.5 in the boat and raised another one around 40, All on bucktails. After that I called it a day. Posts: 1303 Location: WI | I caught 2 short ones on thursday on a small bobbie bait. Went to a different lake close by and lost one when it hit boatside and thrashed, I couldn't get the freespool button pressed in time. Had another one follow near the boat ramp. Friday I trolled and aside from snagging a new lure it was uneventful. Saturday went casting again for 5 hours and didn't see a single fish. Tournament on the lake so every spot was getting pounded.

Posts: 253 | Went out on Saturday, rightr away had a pick up and missed on a sucker and had 2 fish up right away. Brother in law never saw a fish until we had one chase his sucker. Then he got one around 39 inches. It was his second fish, and when he picked up out of the net, it wiggled out of his hands and back into the lake. Went back Sunday, again immediately had one pick up and drop. We then had about a 43 cruise around our sucker then swam off. Then I popped a 35.Raised 2 more, then partner had a nice fish on and got off. While putting a new sucker on for him, my rod went off and we got a 37.5. Saw a few more then things slowed down. Location: Des Moines IA | Team RumbleKnott had the opportunity to enjoy the northwoods this weekend thanks to the hospitality of Steve and Sue Worrall, and the use of Andrew's HotRod of a Tuffy!!!! We can't say Thank You enough!!! Jeremy managed a 37 on a Rhinelander area puddle on a sucker. We couldn't get them to chase any artificials, so the pattern turned out to be launching my 10 inch Weagle on to the shore, then going in to get it back, the suckers would get bit? Oh well, atleast we got one in the net!!!!! Thanks again Steve, Sue and Andrew we had a Blast!!!!!!!! Edited by MuskieMike 10/6/2008 8:26 AM

Posts: 32951 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We had a good time this weekend, despite the Muskies on George, Moen, and Julia all having a little bit of an 'attitude'. Saturday offered some of the finest weather so far this year...for golf! Glad the guys made it up, the time on the water was great!

Posts: 203 Location: Germantown, WI | I caught a 38" musky at Pewaukee on Saturday. It took a boatside sucker fished on my homemade lift off rig. I had her unhooked and resting in the Beckman and was getting the tripod ready for a quick photo when I realized the camera had a low battery. Well no photo, but a nice fish nonetheless. It's the first musky I've boated since June so it was about time. Overall it was a slow morning with clear skies and virtually no wind. I never saw another fish all morning.
