Posts: 415 Location: madison wisconsin | I recently purchased a new pacemaker and two stillwaters and need some help. The pacemaker was $25 and the stillwaters were $20. I think I might have got the new plastic ones instead of the wood ones. I was hoping to get the wood ones cause I heard that they were stop making the them. I picked it up and it felt fairly light, so my question is how can you tell? The older wood kind I think ran around $30 so I think I might have got the new kind. Any suggestions? If so, oh well......

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | There was no price change when Ty went from wood to plastic on the Pacemakers. The plastic ones have a different look. It has a "meaner" look. Kind of an indentation where the eyes are and the top of the head. The ones I have weighed were no different in weight from wood to plastic either. Aaron

Posts: 1887 Location: syracuse indiana | i will say that the plastic ones hold up and perform better. but just like the wood ones the paint comes off by hookrub and i have heard of someguys having problems with the blade coming loose and they have taken epoxy and seald the bead where they go in the back section...bill

Posts: 691 Location: nationwide | I believe all Stillwaters are wood. The plastic Pacemakers have a dent right behind the eyes on the top. The wood bodied Pacemakers are completely round with no cutouts for the eyes or dent on top of the head. Hopefully this makes sense. Corey Meyer

Posts: 691 Location: nationwide | Here is a black glitter plastic Pacemaker . . . notice the bump on the top of the head, the wood ones do not have this. Corey Meyer Attachments ---------------- ![]()
