Congrats to them. What an odd tournament this was. Close quarters fishing and yet these guys caught three fish right in the middle of everyone (one about 40 feet from us These spots were burned and burned and they pulled in and bango. Amazing. I'm very proud of my homeboys and am afraid I won't hear the end of it this ice fishing season but at least we'll have a 5 star shack.

Thanks to Tom and Beth for another great year. This tour is awesome, great people, friendly atmosphere, fun waters, affordable, close to home, just the total package. If you guys haven't fished a WMT, enter as they are a great time. It's amazing how many of the participants have been fishing since year one and has been the basis for some great friendships.

WOW.

i've got to admit that when the WMT announced the Grand Slam and Triple Crown a couple years ago i figured it was a safe advertising gimmick because the odds were way too long that someone would ever win it.

these bonuses surpass even the vaunted Simply Fishing tourney payout, and really are an even bigger accomplishment since it reflects a full season's work.

congrats to Lijewski and Schroeder...they have got to be at least half muskie!

While it's not Bassmasters type money, that is still a nice chunk of change. Those guys have to be some of the best tournament anglers I've ever seen. Congrats on one heck of a tourney season.
If my wife sees that kind of money available, she might actually let me fish a few of the tournaments.

Great job guys, if anyone could do it, it was these two. All the hard work and dedication paid off.

Next time in the boat, beer is on you.

Boy as a team those guys are so consistent year in and year out, they simply just catch fish! I don’t think enough people appreciate how difficult it is to win tournaments let alone winning the WMT Grand Slam!

Congratulations guys!

I can imagine reeling in those fish must have been a little nerve racking considering how much potential money was on the line.

Heck of a year guys!

How does the WMT afford to payout such a large sum of money? Is it an insurance policy or something?

My guess would be yes, probably more than one, but I'm not privy to anything.

What was the biggest fish of the year??

I'm sure there has to be an insurance policy in place.

Similar to a policy on a "hole in one" in a golf tournament that pays out cars, Harley's, cash, etc.

Lots of companies also donate $$$ and items. I was a $500 level donator this year and I think I was one of the small donators. I would think the insurance plan for the big payout is most likely. WOW!

Great Job Guys...congrats!!!

It seems like these two fisherman got everybody throwing big plastics. It seems most boats are fishing the same baits....But how in the heck do they trigger the fish when most are struggling is the amazing feat.

My wife and I had shots at 2 fish, but the fish missed the baits. One was 48"plus.

Half the  teams did not even raise fish. Big St. seemed to have limited spots and it was a GET IN LINE tourney.

I wish the general public could see how WELL the tournament anglers remove boats from the water. TALK ABOUT EFFICIENT.

I see these two guys on a regular basis and am very pleased and excited for them. Hard work indeed! If I've learned one thing from watching and listening to them talk it's to work out a plan and stick to your plan. As mentioned in a previous post you can have everybody throwing the same bait but get different results. I think it takes developing not only a bait that works for you but learning how, when, and where to apply it to the body of water you are fishing. Just imitating what somebody else does is likely to put you in the "almost won" category. Develop a system (plan) and learn how to adapt to the conditions.
Great job guys. I couldn't be happier for you!
