Location: New Albany, Ind. | I have a Ranger 375V with a Merc 175 hp on it. When you hit the trim button it just makes a clicking sound. Have checked the oil and its full hard to lift the motor manualy. Any help would be appreciated.

| There should be two relays inside the cowl of the motor. Need to replace them, and you should be good to go. Stop by your dealer, and they will have the relays in stock. Probably even show you where they are inside the cowl. |

| I am in the process of dealing with the same issue. My trim slowly died over the course of two weeks. I replace the relays, nothing. So I took the trim motor off and it worked hooked up without being in the assembly. I checked the hydrolic fluid and it was full of metal shavings so I found a used assebly without a motor. I installed it and still not dice (went up/down twice). I now have a new trim motor coming. Fun Stuff. |

Location: Sun Prairie, WI | Find a complete used assy. and install the entire trim and tilt unit. I dealt with changing new motors and finally just replaced the entire unit. I got really good and taking the unit off. Did it about 10 times trying to diagnose the problem. Good luck |

Location: New Albany, Ind. | Thanks guys, the clicking is coming from the solenoid so going start there first looked into the problem more today, that dont work Ill try the other suggestions. just curious how much did the motor cost and was it for same boat motor? Thanks again Ron |

| My outboard is a Evinrude if that matters. I found the entire trim assembly minus the electric motor for $300...used. The electric motor I found new w/warranty on Ebay for $65. The relays is a good place to start, I paid $30 for the pair. Now I have a spare set. Most auto parts stores can cross reference them. |

Location: Arena WI | FIRST I HAD PROBLEMS WITH TRIM UP ,2 WEEKS LATER TRIM DOWN. REPLACED 2 RELAYS FOR 20 BUCKS AND 5 MIN WORK AND EVERYTHING IS GREAT  |
