Beautiful fish, wow. Big head, thick all the way through - it's got it all. But, he fished LESS after catching that one? You gotta talk some sense into (or out of depending on how you look at it) him, HAHA!

Yeah, we thought it would be 52-53 when it was in the net, fish was fat!! That was the third fish around that size we had that night! Only one that made it in the net though...

He did get a little complacent after that fish, hes young!!

Congrats on a monster fish!! Once the excitement wears off, bet you will be out there fishing cast-for-cast with your uncle!

Sad how some people always have to give a little poke to the event [honest? accurate?] Thought this was a nephew out with his uncle enjoying the day, the water and the chance to land a pig!! Lightenup 'guest' this isn't the Muskie Olympics - just get out and fish!

The adreneline rush wipes you out doesn't it? I have to remind myself that if the one in the net bit then the "bite" may be on so get back to casting! Easier said than done though. When I CPR'd my big one last month I had to sit down with a hot cup of coffee and have some quiet time. I felt pretty blessed that night. So, a big "congratulations" to you and your nephew. What a fish!

Like i said, we all thought it was 52-54 inches because it looked so massive, but luckily it was the exact same size of one i got two years ago, minus about 3-4 inches in girth. Mine was skinny. So neither of us has bragging rights yet!! something to shoot for our next trip, to break the tie!!

First off what an awesome fish and what great times to share!

And to szqwral- I think 'guest' was genuinely trying to be complementary, alluding to the trend of MANY fish pics on the net looking smaller than their reported measurements!!! In the rare instance when a fish actually looks BIGGER than what is reported, it is kinda refreshing! I have to agree.

Well, Guest -- you can second guess me all you want, but 'alluding to' is simply rude since we should all know Guest that most of you viewers have not a clue how to judge size or girth of a fish from a picture due to many factors one may never remember to take into account, such as: distance between camera and fish/angler; size of angler; how far or close they are holding/positioning the fish, day or night light effects, etc. Let's just enjoy the moment and again just get out there and fish!
