Location: chicago | I am expecting a new musky fisher baby within the next few weeks. Anyway i cant travel too far incase she goes in to labor. Does anyone any spots really close to Chicago where I might have a chance to catch a musky. I know there are alot of lakes that the dnr doesnt tell anyone about. You will make my short season. Thanks |

Location: Chicagoland | I would not over look the Fox Chain O lakes. As the water temps drop and the pleasure boaters leave the water, you will find the muskies are quite active. Not far from there, to the east of the tri state, is Sterling lake which has a pretty good pop. of upper 30's to mid 40's fish. It also doesn't see a lot of pressure for esox. hope this helps! |

| Hey Stu,
I live in Lake county and have fished Sterling a few times. I haven't fished her in a while thought, but it's worth a shot as there are lot's of mid sized fish with a few beaut's in there as well.
Here's a link to get a map of sterling lake. www.co.lake.il.us/forest |
