I have a 200 Evie ficht.
Went to start after a long fast run and "chunk"...the starter wouldnt even turn the pistons...

Pulled out..put in gear..CANNOT turn the prop

Oil tank was low to empty.

Added a gallon xd 50..no change.

No low oil alarm, no 'no oil' alarm.

36 month warrenty expired July 2 this year.

Taking to the shop.

Any guesses on problem and cost?

Impossible to guess, your mechanic will let you know.

Yup---she she's seized up.

KUDOS to EVINRUDE!!!!!! Even though my warrenty expired, they are going to cover parts and labor after reviewing the motor's report that indicated no abuse on my part.

Don't you just love the modern electronic's in our equipment- no "low oil" alarms, no "RPM over limit" alarms & you get warranty service - sweeet! I'd stick with those guys.

But, why were there no warnings????? Could be a "firmware" problem.

Have fun!
Al
