OK, I got one of Tacklebooty's number 13 spinners. I want to use it on the surface; budgeing the water. This means speed in the reel and a rod with a lot of backbone. Any suggestions?

Use a hvy action rod and raise your rod tip. The thought of special rods/REELS for big blades is becoming laughable. My Lunas did fine until I started ripping big minnowbaits. There will be many, many Trinidads for sale . Steve

steve j. (or anyone else out there), speaking of lunas, are you using the standard double paddle handles on them for cranking db's or the power handle and if so how much of a difference does it make?

The standard double paddles are quite large on the Lunas. Should be no need for a power handle.

I use a Diawa 8'6" heavy "Muskie VIP" with a TE400 Shimano (with power handle). My buddy uses a St. Croix 8'6" heavy with a 7000 reel. He loves his setup and I love mine too. My TE400 cost a little $$$ though. I got mine using $300 in Cabelas coupons though so it only cost me $80

PSS-I have also used my Abu 6500 w/power handle on a 6'6" MH and I thought it did fine.
