Posts: 123 Location: Bemidji, MN | I have been on cass a most of my days fishing muskies this summer and moved fish each time out except for a couple times. Although I havent put one in the boat, and lost a couple. I will be out there and will come back with reports. Are you planning on hitting Cass? Edited by quackaddict9 8/7/2008 11:20 PM

| Sorry it's a couple week old report.... Fish were moving pretty good on cabbage. Nada on the rocks and sand. Gliders, spinnerbaits and topwater all moved fish. I boated 3 in about 17 hours fishing. Early morning and late afternoon seemed to be best. I'll be back hitting it hard in a week, so if anyone has any current info, it would be great. | |||

Posts: 75 | we are up on cass right now I caught a 47 last night what i have seen is the fish are having really short feeding windows so really have to be in the right place right time. We have been moving fish everyday but in the morning they are very sluggish and dont seem to interested night has been the best but when they will go off is a toss up. Just wonderin if a trip to lotw is worth the while Edited by stormynick 8/10/2008 7:58 AM

Posts: 100 Location: Bemidji/Cass Lake | I live on Andrusia and have only fished Cass chain exclusively this season. Was a tough June and early July but the fish started clicking much better halfway through July and it's been pretty good since. A 50" and 49.5" are my last 2 fish. Places I could count on seeing/catching fish years prior have been pretty dead, had to change it up. Cowgirl, Weagle, Pacemaker, Kickin Minnow have done the most damage. Places where the wind is hitting are key. I agree with mornings being bad, but I still go too. Evening is way better. Its down into the 40s many nights and the water gets quite a cool down each night. That doesn't help for morning, in the summer anyway. Should check bullrushes but haven't.

| Congrats on the two great fish! What kind of water temps are you getting on Cass right now? | |||

Posts: 100 Location: Bemidji/Cass Lake | They're around 72, but I haven't checked in awhile, only a guess. I dont always look but I had the underwater camera out a few days ago and had 70+ most places. Caught 3 tonight, 48, 45, 41. Lost 2 other. Cass is good right now, but our whole area has been for a bit now. I hear Leech is slow, but I bet that doesn't last much longer.

| When you say the evening bite is better, what time are you refeering to? 5:00 - 9:00pm, after dark, etc? I am coming up this Saturday and will be staying at Birch Villa in cabin 1. I have a Black Lund Explorer 1800. When we are not fishing we will probably be getting some Texas Hold 'Em going, so if you are into that give me a shout at 414-517-5978 or stop by cabin 1! Posts: 100 Location: Bemidji/Cass Lake | Ya, 5-9 has been good, but anytime you get some breeze, be ready. Not everyone likes it, but 15mph wind is perfect. I'm not saying don't rule out mornings, they WILL be very good yet, and probably have been at times. A hot night or 2 would help, but I'm not sure that's gonna happen this year. Later Dan | ||
