I've got a situation where I would like to put a plug (male and female) in between the transducer and the the that goes into the sonar unit (Lowrance X96). Is this possible? If so, how hard is it? I don't know exactly what the wiring consists of inside that transducer this is why I ask. If anyone has done this let me know.
Thank you.

Get a transducer switch box from Lowrance. That is the best way to add a sonar location to your boat. No splicing of the cable is necessary.
