Subject: broke my slump!!!!

First of I'd like to apologize for any posts made like..last night or something...my friend and fishing partner who reads this forum with me since I found it was drunk as hell last night and apparently made some EVEN MORE off the wall uncalled for remarks than I usually make but hey I'm gettin better(lots goes on outside of this computer with me)...(he asked me today if I got any bad emails from the site (he's not very computer literate) ...

Anyhow, after countless follows, missed strikes this season...especially the past few nights..I was out with the nephew of my dad's friend who I just met tonight..he is a FLW bass tourny fisher from Springfield, Ill...We were hittin the big bar on my lake and a set of fine tourist honeys were talkin to us as we fished telling us to "come have a BETTER time and join us for some drinks around the fire" For once I didn't act on impulse, I had this weird feeling. I declined the offer and minutes later, as it got to the point of almost darkness, had a fish move on my hawgbuster at the boat...3 casts later the dude I was with wanted me to take him back to his cabin..so I did...threw a few casts there no dice. Decided to hit one more spot before calling it a night, it was only 10:30.. friends callin me tellin me to come out and party bla bla bla and I was like ok whatever let me take one more cast and I'll head back to my cabin and then head home. Ploop ploop ploop ploop BANG kersplash giddy up, a musky hits and goes airborne. I laced into this one a couple extra times as I lost a few fish already on that bait this year. This sucker came out of the water 3 times..I was alone and trying to keep tension and get the net ready while holding the light...wow that sucked...finally got her in the net and realized it was not as big as it fought...splashed the hell out of me, I was drenched. Laid him on the board and was 37.5" on the button. Grabbed my digital camera which was out of it's case after snappin some pics of loons at sunset, only to see that too was drenched along with my cell phone. Lesson learned there, although it's far too early in my career to not have it happen again...Well I got no pics of it, and would of had trouble anyways as I was alone so I was not upset. Clean release, it was like 1, 2, 3 from the moment it hit. I'm pretty stoked..it's the things like this that make me have this undying love for the lunge.

But, I started the night with my new Muskie Mojo walleye colored double X I bought along with a Weagle today (can't believe the license plate WEAGLEM hasn't been taken yet...heheheh I might be the first to get it unless I think up something better)...first 2 casts with it I had a mid 40's fish chasing it halfway to the boat..never to be seen again. Decided to try out the new cisco pattern weagle as a throwback and was not as impressed as I thought I'd be..never saw her again ...but after all the jackpots I've been through (which I was throwin since I could throw and run immaculately with numerous fish caught on em up to my teen years) I couldn't run that thing as well..it kept sinking. Maybe they put a wabull in the weagle spot at Rollies...unless there's some trick..seemed like when I wanted to slow it down, which is very effective on my lake with jackpots..she'd sink. bah.

Well there ya go, a big story about a little fish..but I enjoy reading about anyones catch regardless how long the story so I decided to let my fingers go tonight...I think that's about it. Was a great night to be on the water and can't wait to hit it again tomorrow..unless I get sidetracked by those 3 honeys.

If that lure sinks, it's a Wabull, for sure. Nice story, Andy!

Another way to tell them apart by just looking at them...If the hanger where you attach your leader is vertical "|" it's a Wabull. If it's horizontal "--" it's a Weagle.

I don't even want to hear anybody talk about slumps. I've got to be breaking a record here or something. I have had 15 outings this year, most of them 9++ hour affairs, and still fishless. Have not had a total skunking yet with no follows, as I'm seeing 2-7 fish every time, but I haven't even had a strike or a super hot follow yet.

Since getting hitched 4 years ago, my musky fishing life has totally hit the skids, starting with the '04 opener a week after I got married. Obviously now with a wife and kid I don't get out anywhere near as much as I used to, but the catch totalls completely fell off the map.......but this year is getting rediculous.

Heading out this aft for another arse whuppin' prolly.
