Location: Wasilla Alaska | My family and I flew into O’Hara from Alaska the afternoon of June 30th. We had tickets to the White Sox vs. Indians game for that evening. First surprise was taking over 2 hours to get from the airport to the ball park (17 miles). Then while walking through the parking lot at Cellular One field, a nice sighting. My son said look dad and there parked at the game a Black SUV with the IL. plate “MUSKIE”. That’s when we knew we were in for a good trip. Even after the Indians lost.
Over the next three weeks we went on 4 guided fishing trips in three states. Plus 6 trips on our own. All the trips met our expectations. We meet and fished with some great guys.
Tom Dietz in Ohio where we fished Caesar's Creek Lake.
Don Miller in Michigan where we fished Lake StClair (Canadian waters)
Rob Manthei in Wisconsin Vilas County
George Langley in Wisconsin Vilas County
We also fished Vilas county lakes on our own with very good results.
For a very different experience Don Miller's trip on Lake StClair was a completely new and different style of fishing for us. Trolling 8 rods at a time on a very unique body of water. If you would have told me we would be fishing in beautiful clear water, with down town Detroit as a back drop. In a musky rich environment. That was very productive. I might not have believed it. But it’s true.
Rob Manthei really came through, taking me and my 75 year old Mother on a very successful walleye fishing trip.
All the guides were top notch, supplied, and used first class gear. Each guide taught us something new, and where a pleasure to be with. I’d recommend all of them.
