What is the difference between Hot Spots lake map CD's and Lake Master CD's? I know one thing is price. I decided I would like to do some work on my PC instead of writing out my logs. I have problems reading my own writing.[;)]

I don't know anything about the Lake Master CD's, but I did just recently purchased the Fishing Hot Spots CD. What is nice about the Fishing Hot Spot CD is that you can download the maps to a GPS. I used it this weekend on my Garmin Legend GPS and it worked great. I am also able to punch in waypoints and tons of other info on the water and upload that info back into my computer at home. It worked great, it was nice to have a map on the boat that wasn't getting wet or flying out of the boat when I was crusing from one spot to another. What was also nice is the fact that I could easily find rock humps in the middle of nowhere. I am really excited to use it this summer on my trip to LOTW.

Hope this helps a little.

I have both, and by far like the Lakemaster CD a lot better. You get a lot more maps that can be printed out, where as the Hot spots has something like 13 lakes. Printing out these maps are somewhat a trouble. I don't use a GPS in conjunction with these lake map softwares, so I can't comment on that. I have heard you can download/upload gps coordinates with the Lakemaster software also. you can also add lakes to the Lakemaster software from their web site.
