Has anybody tried the shallow 11" Curley Sues Yet? I was throwing my regular ones a little today, and noticed if I got them to the top they made quite a bit of noise on the surface - almost popped like a tail rotating topwater with the heavy tail. Is the shallow version light enough to be able to be retreived on the top at slower speeds? Does it still sink enough to be able to jerk it over shallow weeds a couple feet down?

I'm going to make a Shack attack order soon, and I might need to add one of these shallow versions to the order.

The Shallow Curly Sue is so new that very few people have tried it. Steve Jonesi loves it and said it will be a very important bait in his arsenal. I have used the bait many times and it will slowly sink so if you want to work the bait around 2-3ft you can. What I like the most is that once it hits the water and you start you retrieve immediately you can work the bait on the surface with a slow to medium retrieve. Once on the surface the tail makes a very loud plopping noise much like a prop bait. Add a pair of number 10 or 12 double blades in front and you can create the largest bulge on the surface of any lure I have seen at a very slow retrieve speed. Even with the blades fitted you can still work the bait fast and burn it. This combination of surface plopping noise and blades is deadly for fishing over sunken weeds beds and especially at night!
If for any reason you don’t like the action of the bait send it back for a full refund! i know you will love it and so will the musky!

The Shallow 11” Curly Sue’s are on the website in all colors. When choosing a color you now choose a Sinking or Shallow version in the dropdown box.
I have also been working on a fast sinking 6” Suzy Sucker and Curly Sue. I used this lure over deep water structure allowing the lure to sink down deep and rip it up fast. I have yet to add the fast sinking 6” Suzy Suckers and Curly Sue’s to the website, this will be done in the next few days. I also need to add the 6” Swirly Curly Sue’s that I have made and are in-stock.
I have the prototype for the Shallow 9” Curly Sue and this is a really slow sinking lure that works really well on/subsurface. I have some tweaking to make and once I am happy this should be in production in a few weeks.

Sounds great Andy, I'll have to get one for sure. I was really surprised how much the tail sounded like a prop bait - like you said. Not only that but the large body on the rest of the bait moves a lot more water than a regular torpedo shaped prop bait. I'm thinking this will be something the fish don't see much, and should really work well.
