They say 520's can share the same sonar image, that is one of the reasons I bought the set. I have looked on their site. No go. Whao owns a pair that can help me set this up? Thank you very much, the greenhorn.

Here are some links to manuals for the Ethernet Expansion port, and BroadBand Sonar module. Look to pages 28-29 for a nice connection diagram and description of these items. Use one or both!

The software issue seems to be a re-occuring issue with these Lowrance units and the sonar. I think Lowrance's service needs to improve before they lose a lot of customers.

Sorry to say, but I don't think Lowrance will lose many customers. There are more happy customers than non happy ones. I don't think it's all Lowrance's problem. I think majority of the problems are occurring from the user and how the user is trying to update the software. If the certain procedures aren't followed just right for networking or for downloading/updating software, then it won't work. There are tons of people out there who don't have issues with there units.

I gave up on emailing them. Yesterday I called as put on hold for 25 mins. But they talked me thru it. I told them my front 520 had a 2.1.0 software installed whereas the rear was a 2.4.0. That was the problem. Once i loaded it to an mmc card and then loaded it into the front 520, all was right with the world. Boy these things hold lots of information. Thanks for all the replies and help.
