| We all know that a decent percent of Musky fishing success has to do with you mental determination on the water. Obviously if you think in a negative manner on the lake, you are most likely not going to have a good day. Sometimes we get into slumps and sometimes we get all pumped up for a day on the water.
You're nearing the lake in your truck and you have a undescribable feeling of confidence. You pull up to the ramp in the morning or night, look out over the water with a determined attitude and know the day will be good.
What does the trick for you?
For me:
*Good sleep- always keeps you alert.
*Music- Metallica, AC/DC, Tool, Rocky Soundtrack (also the old hulkamania theme song "I am a real american")
*Musky weather- just those days (hard to explain)

| Nothing beats a couple good hits of meth.[:0] Nah, I usually go for the whole mellow thing. Just get out there and fish, let the sporadic follows take care of the blood pumping... |
|
| |
|
| I stop at the last gas station I see before the lake...pull up to the air hose, blow my horn, then purse me lips + insert the hose into me backside until I start levitating...then I jump back in the truck + hit the pedal...just hope your shoe doesn't come untied; bending over requires beginning the process all over again...that's how I get PUMPED![:0] |

| SLIM SHADY Or KID ROCK. |

|
| Every day I fish for Muskies I feel confident. Doesn't mean squat, but I can't wait to hit the water most days.
Crazy, I guess.[] |

|
| There is nothing specific that gets me pumped to go fishing. I think it's just the fact that I love being out on my boat. Driving to the launch just seems to put me in a good mood. |
|
| |
|
| Crispy Creme donuts and chocolate milk get me going on my way to the boat ramp.
A little Kid Rock helps too []
WOW !!!

|
| Hooking the trailler to the truck gets me pumped, other then that the first breath of freash air once on the water does the trick. [:sun:] |

| HHHHHHHHmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......whats the usual Slamr Psyche Up Kit Involve??? At LEAST 1 Pot of Coffee (cappuccino when available), 6 pills of any type which include ephedrine, and at least 8 cigarrettes. Yeah this deadly mixture probably takes a few months off of my lifespan....but I DO fish like a maniac for at least 6 hours, then I access the kit again!!!

| I forgot....RED BULL! |
|
| |
|
| Revving the motor up and pulling away from the dock!
Plus a good mug of joe on the way to the launch ramp.

| Ok, this is trippy, but....
On some days I can FEEL where the fish are and what they want. On those days I can cast like a ninja Jedi on coke, too. The same thing occassionally happens when deer hunting; I know exactly where to go and what's going to happen - it's like rereading a book. Most days are just normal, though, no "shine" at all.
Anyone else experience this? Or am I just FOS? |

| The wife gets me PUMPED before I go!Its the only way!!!!!Jeff [:0] |

|
| Smelling the fumes when the big motor starts up. is what gets me pumped. There is just something I love about the smell of outboard exhaust. I don't inhale it, but man...the scent drives me....It gets my blood running to head out to the first spot and start casting.

|
| Just knowing that I'm going MUSKY fishing does the trick, a little rock and roll doesn't hurt either!!!!!!!!![:p] |

|
| Morning
The first deep breath of crisp clean Northwood’s air when I wake up, the walk down to the dock, sunglasses, the smoke on the way to my first spot, crack open a cold one when I arrive, and slip into the sublime.
Evening
Still sublime, cheeseburger in paradise, a cold lineys, a red bull, a smoke on the boat cruise to my first spot, tie on my big fish bait, a headlamp, take a deeeeep breath, and smile.

|
| Lets see,
1. Greensticks
2. Beer or turbo mixed jack and coke
3. Gas station beef jerky, and bad breakfast sandwiches
4. Grateful dead tunes
5. A phantom on the end of 6' jerkbait rod |

| Since becoming a dad, just having a chance to go gets me pumped. Once last year I was so pumped I didn't even realize that I was listening to a Bear In The Big Blue House CD until I was nearly to the lake. [:knockout:] |

|
| FOR ME, IT'S THAT FIRST GLANCE AT THE WATER AS I ARRIVE, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S FLAT/CALM AND A LITTLE STEAMY. A LITTLE ROCK & ROLL AC/DC "SHOOT TO THRILL" OR KID ROCK "COWBOY" DOES IT FOR ME. AND LET'S NOT FORGET A GOOD JOLT OF CAFFINE!! [] |
|
| |
|
| What gets me going is smoking a cigarette or two while looking out across the water in the early morning. The sun is just starting to make it's presense known and there is no one on the water yet.
I guess that it doesnt take much to get me going when it comes to fishing, just the fact that I'm going fishing is enough to get my juices flowing! |

|
| A good cold front moving in within the next 12 to 16 hours after three days of consistant weather. This was the stage that was set for me last night. The fish went bonkers,4 fish between 3 of us. I cpr'ed a 45.5 and a 37incher with a 44 and 41 cought by my two pals. |
|
| |
|
| Usually just the anticipation of the hunt and good whiff of fresh air is enough....
Little Rock n Roll and a cup of coffee on the way to the lake is good too...
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Live from Steel Town
Reo - Get what ya play for
AC/DC
Damn Yankee's
April Wine
Travis Trit
Creed
and more....
Crank it...

|
| A 10 to 15 mph SW wind at 65 degree water temps, party cloudy with a front coming....Now that drives my blood preasure right up.[] []
Two bad it only happens four weeks a year, couple in the spring and a couple in the fall.[:blackeye:] |
|
| |
|
| There are numerous things that can get me pumped..
Loacating a big fish a day or two prior
Weather change, wind, light rain, moon phase, light change
Most important, good fishing buddies or clients

| Multiple days in a row of boating fish!!!
One time back in August one year I missed ONE day on the water the whole month..I just could not stop. When the smoke cleared..48 legals were in my boat. Funny thing was, I took the first week in September off that year to show my wife I was alive.[;)] [] |

|
| For me its days when I've seen fish lately, the crisp morning air and music on the way. Also a case or two of dr pepper. |
|
| |
|
| When its early in the morning its gotta be the fog thats rollin' on the water and hearing the waves crash up against the shoreline is great! |
