do your Labor Day weekend plans include getting out for some muskie fishing?

i'm headed up to Worrall's Hideout for the long weekend.
with the "official" start of fall, i'm toying with the idea of soaking a sucker if i can find any for sale somewhere...
i'll be solo most of the weekend, so if someone's in the Vilas/Oneida area and looking to get out on the water for awhile, drop me a PM.

what will you be doing?

Fishing off times around the Twin Cities, hoping for some shallow/topwater fun! I've been thinking about soaking some suckers too, maybe i'll give it a try.

We are spending the weekend at Willow Falls Campground. Hoping to get a tent spot with river access so I only launch the boat once all weekend.
I have not fished since mid-November, so I've been Jonesin' pretty bad to get back out & at it. Returned to Milwaukee in June after a 2-year stint in Buffalo. In Buffalo, I was only a 30 minute drive from the Canadian border! Will miss not being able to explore Georgian Bay on the weekends. Thats a really special place.
All this job/change & relocation stuff has been getting in the way of my fishing time!!

Hey Hooper21,
Headin' up to Eagle too! North Shore Lodge for me and the party. Hope you knock 'em dead (you know what I mean)! Good luck to everyone else too. Time on the water is time that lasts forever if it is shared with good friend or family. Enjoy it. Remember it. Share it!

That's so cool, David, congrats.
I took the day off and hit Piedmont Lake Thursday as the remains of the hurricane was blowing thru. Just occasional showers. I've never caught a muskie on that lake in many attempts, and I got a 30 on a topraider that hit right at the boat and did some neat boatside air shows.
Got a 32 on a Perkette I'd just repainted, and had another one on that was a really good fish. 3,4 headshakes and I finally got my bait back - durn thing thought she was gonna keep it! Lost another one on a DC 9 and saw 3,4 more, so i went back today in the bright sun and got my arse handed to me. Keeps me humble, days like today. It's all good! m
