Location: Ontario | ...I know these lures get discussed over and over, here's one more q. I picked up a solid black Pounder for this season and it ws packaged in the big zipper bag. The front treble mashed the pec fins so that instead of laying flat and in line with the belly, they're bent upwards and both kinda crooked. They might eventually relax and go back to original shape. I don't throw dawgs much, but aim to more, just too mant fish caught on these things. I have a solid wire Mag Dawg that rolls over when I rip it etc. Will the bent fins do anything to affect true-running on the Pounder? It's a one pound ball of rubber and lead..will it even affect the action at all? I want to be able to rip and reel it so it travels in a straight path, not rolling and twsiting like my other one does. If it acts up, would clipping them right off be a dumb idea? I'm going to use the Pounder this year during the day everywhere I normally rip, twitch or crank 10" Jakes, I'm putting in in the rotation and leaving it there until it catches a fish or the Shield eats it. I know guys are down on Bulldawg's rubber and I can see why..this thing is like Jello with hooks..I can see the nose ripping thru first. It's a great looking bait, but I can tell she ain't gonna last. Thanks guys.
