| I was curious if you guys are using 80lb or 65lb? Any insight would be great... | |||

Posts: 531 Location: Hugo, MN | I tried 80 first...but it seemed a little bulky. I put on 65 and it's much better. It casts further and the spool diameter doesn't change as much on long casts, which will keep retrieve speed higher. Since the levelwind is disengaging, I think it's best to use the smaller diameter 65 lb. line, for better casting distance and fewer backlashes. Great reel, you'll enjoy it. | ||

| I used 50 pound last year and it worked ok but I have spooled both of mine with 65 lb courtland masterbraid this year. I think 65lb will be better than 50 and 80 | |||
