I would like to hear any you may have about muskies? I acually am stubborn and have many, but one that sticks out and was disproved was that fish do NOT eat top water on presurred lakes.

Indiana waters are heavily pressured and they do eat topwater baits.

"Clear water muskies will not hold out in very shallow water"

That one cost me a place in a tourney once.

You can't catch a musky in Iowa on a Bucktail so it doesn't pay to trow anything except a Wades Wobbler.

So far I haven't found a notion that hasn't been contradicted by someone else's notion.
They're all preconceived

At some point in time during a week long fishing trip SLAMR will fall into the lake

I guess the pre-concieved notion I disagree with most is the idea that CPR doesn't hurt the fish. I believe all of these things can't be anything but negative for the fish: hooking the fish, the fight, (sloppy) release technique. Who can disagree that an unhooked fish is healthier that a free swimming fish.

Now don't go throwing PETA stones at me, I know people have the priveldge to catch and release (or keep) a fish. I'm not suggesting any further restrictions than what are already in place in each state. The less laws the better; but people must view themselves as stewards of the resources with with we are blessed. And behave accordingly.

But hooking a fish hurts the fish, period. (I hope to hook one this evening!)

most times out i have a preconceived notion that the muskies will bite.
most trips end up more like reality bites!

Linda? Linda McCartney? Is that really you? Have you been reincarnated as my favorite lib, Ranger? But I must say, he is sounding more conservative these days. Less laws are better? That's a pretty extreme position for you to take, Ranger. Robert Byrd is going send the Klan after you!

Fish only look at #10's (or any other bucktail) if you bring it back to the boat at 275 mph.
I like 'em slow and low some times, or tied beefy and bulged slow too.

Sorry Shep, no Linda's here. Don't know anything about her.

As you know, Shep, I'm pretty liberal on some issues and not so muchon others. I hope to support comon sense, but of course first I have to build my capacity to recognize it when it comes by. I'm trying.

Maybe you didn't get those commercials featuring Linda McCartney in the UP. Featured her crying about how hooks cause the fish pain. Ran during Gillespie's show. What a hoot!

And I know you ar e trying, Ric. I knew I talked some sense into you while watching those spearers set up there TeePee on Roberts!

How is Tim? Eric is playing Legion baseball now, and went 5-0 for JV HS team this year. He's nearly as tall as me!
