Posts: 897 | I was out fishing this weekend, got a 32" in the net, unhooked it, and was getting the camera ready for a quick photo in the water when the little sucker snuck through a hole in the net I had no idea was there! As I inspected my 1.5 year old Beckman bag I discovered no less than three holes approximately 4-5" in diameter. Good thing it wasn't a big fish in the net when that happened... Anyone know what Beckman's warranty is on their bags? This one was a gift so I don't have the receipt. -Chris

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | I had the same issue last year with a new bag, and Ted T. prompty and happily replaced it for me. A couple fish tore new holes in the new bag over the weekend again. I pointed out that the new bag strands are much thinner than the strands on my 6 year old Fin Saver bag thast never did tear(I replaced it last year because all of the rubber coating had come off). I was told they were trying to keep the weight down, but I'd really like to see the strand thickness increase again, as I'd hate to see what this one will look like after a whole season. Drop Lindy an email. They were very helpful with my issue. Edited by Reef Hawg 5/27/2008 9:19 AM

Posts: 311 Location: Ontario | I know that the yoke is Lifetime. My net's bag is three year warranty, it's a Beckman too. Three years against manufacturing defect. I patched a buddy's Power Katch with 100 pound Power Pro (two holes about the same size as yours) and last season it netted a 51, 46 and a couple under 45 inches too. You can fix the holes if they won't replace the bag. Multiple wrapping of the line and a coat of epoxy over them and good as new. Like Reefhawg said, Lindy's a reputable outfit though, I bet they'd step up for you. The net I patched held up to a handful of lakers from 18 to 30 pounds before muskie opened last year, too. Good luck bud.

Posts: 239 Location: Madison, WI | If your net is not covered under warranty buy some #4/#5 crimping sleeves. Load the torn tag ends into the sleeve and crimp away. Quick and easy fix for any net that has a hole!

Posts: 385 | Keep some zip ties in your boat and if you need a quick fix they work well.

Messing with ya. But Lindy Little Joe purchased the Beckman Net Company, so you'll have to check with them.

Posts: 350 Location: WESTERN WI | I have to second using zip ties as emergency repairs and then crimping the loose ends together. I have shrink tubed the crimp and it seems to work fine. I will not get the thinner net that Frabill has and opt for the thicker knotless version next time, the thinner version just doesn't hold up to fish.

| Zip ties..what a great idea! I had never thought of that. I had the same thing happen to me with a Frabill. Bought a Stowmaster, that thing is a load in the water. I still love them both......Now where did I put those zip ties??? | |||
