Posts: 1245 Location: Madtown, WI | OK...not a muskie but, a message is here... Had the whole family up north for memorial week...what a blast. OK so we focused on the smallies..well..because they were bitting!! Anyway...we caught some dandies...including my son landing a 21.5 inch monster on a power tube. we got a couple of pictures and then got a cool release shot. He never once asked to keep it (mind you they had no idea it was catch and release on bass). After I took this release pic he turned to me and asked..."dad do you think I could get a replica made of that one!?" Pretty proud moment....start them early as many of you I know do! Oh, have to put one of my daughter as well Cory Edited by C.Painter 5/29/2008 10:41 PM Attachments ---------------- kyle with jumbo 21 and half smallie may 08 low res.JPG (161KB - 98 downloads) kyle releases his 21 and half smallie.JPG (145KB - 99 downloads) dad and ava with a nice smallie.JPG (105KB - 89 downloads)

Posts: 4266 | I started my daughter out early on releasing fish, but once she had some gills and perch, she knew that some of them were made to be kept and eaten. When she was small, she would kiss the fish and say, "Bye-Bye fishy."; so I didn't think much of it when I heard her saying it repeatedly as we were drifting along. It was then that I turned around to see her with a plastic bag half-full of Sassy Shads, kissing them and throwing them over the side. I could see about 20 of them leaving a bread crumb trail behind the boat. How could you help but laugh. BTW, that smallie that your kid caught is an awesome fish, and that shot would be a nice 8x10, or maybe a pair of 5x7's with the fish and the release shot. Better than a mounted fish, that's for sure. Beav

Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | That is awesome Cory!!! The smiles show it all. I had my oldest daughter in the boat for a little while on Sunday and kind of like Beav's story she was playing with some plastic lizards that I gave her. However she wasn't throwing them in the water, just piling them on the boat seat. She practiced rowing and held a little largemouth as well before saying "bye shishy". She'll be 2 next month so I know more trips are in the making. Can't wait to have some pictures like yours Cory. Great work!!

Posts: 1245 Location: Madtown, WI | Thanks Guys...glad you enjoyed the pics. One of my daughters favorite past times while in the boat is to take my scissors and give my tubes "hair cuts". So I make sure and save all my trashed tubes after the smallies tear them up. I have gone through TOO many perfectly good tubes that are now...well...shorter Cory
