If you catch a big fish where would you be more likely to keep it a lake you fish all the time or one that you fish once in a great while. And no saying you wouldnt keep it either place.

I would NEVER keep a muskie. Period. And I think an aweful lot of others feel exactly the same.

The fish of my dreams is very likely to come from a local metro lake (because that's mostly all I fish), and I'm likely to be all by myself. I'd sure like to have a picture, but if I don't get one that's OK too.

Hey Sled,
You can't even keep them long enough to get them on the bump board, especially at Eagle Lake!!!

Oh, about keeping fish if I catch a Record fish I don't care where I am at I am thumping it, it's my right for purchasing a license.

Doesn't matter. Don't plan on keeping another one.
Since 1975 I've kept 2. One 42"er that ate a walleye jig and minnow on Memorial Day. By the time I got her to the boat, she floated up from under the boat. Fought her to death. Didn't know any better.
2'nd one was mid-June the same year. 44"er ate a six-inch Bobbie Bait straight from behind, and when I set the hooks, her gills were in her mouth. It looked like a shark attack with all of the blood in the water. Since then I have been very fortunate and released every other ski that I landed as well as some premature releases. As long as I am able and the fish are healthy, I plan on releasing every other muskie that I catch, no matter if it's Lake X or Lake W. I always take multiple cameras for fish that would have been mounted 30 years ago.

I'm with Beav. With reproductions available like Rick Lax produces, it's now just plain easy to decide she swims away.

I'm with Steve, Already have a couple reproductions so it would have to be a very special fish of World Record proportions for me to keep it even at that there is no way it would be a Canadian fish as I only get the Conservation License

It would be really nice if the States would offer that option as well
