Location: North-Central WI | Musky opener arrived this past Saturday and found water temperatures hovering from 60-62 degrees early in the morning. Despite the cooler than usual temps, the action was consistently good. We did well this past weekend on smaller in-line style bucktails such as Mepps Musky Killers in a variety of patterns. Small DeLONG Killer Eels and small Suzy Suckers worked well especially as the weekend wore on and seemed to produce better than twitch baits. The bulk of the fish were in shallow weedy cover or wood, often in depths of only 2'-3'. On a side note, the northern pike were also quite active with fish into the 30 inch range showing up on a regular basis as well.
Tight lines,

Location: Green Bay, WI | Cool report Joel...very helpful.
I went video trolling in Little Sturgeon Bay yesterday. Trolled a Swimmin' Joe and a safety-pin bucktail for a couple hours in 6-20 feet of water, but never saw a fish. Nor did we see any weeds at all...at ANY depth. The surface water temps were about 54-55 degrees, and at 8-10 feet down it was about 53 degrees. We were going to try to move up shallower in the bay later last evening when the sun went down a bit, but the wind switched and was blowing 2-footers with white caps directly down the bay! So on the trailer she went, and we'll have to try it again next weekend.

Location: North-Central WI | Tom, though it sounds like the catching was a little tough, I'm sure the fishing was great - isn't it always?! Best of luck this season!
