Wondering if anyone knows where I could get a few reels looked at? It's been a while since they have been maintained and I would like them gone through. Somewhere here in WI would be great as shipping is not the cheapest thing in the world right now. Thanks for any help.

Any specific reason to send them back to the company?
I called the sportsmansrepair and he seemed very reasonable and knowledgable. Anyone ever have any issues here?

You can't go wrong with sportsmans repair. Very good at what he does and pretty quick turnaround too. A++++++++++++++

Chuck Brod owns sportmans repair. His group is the best in the business. Chuck does a lot of the muskie shows in the winter with Rollie Helens. You can ship him your reels direct, or if you are in the northwoods I think you can drop them off at Rollie and Helens and they will send them to him.

Sportsman's repair did an amazing job on a whole load of Abu Garcias for me this season! I can't say enough about their positive customer service and the quality of their work. My reels haven't ever been this smooth....even when I bought them!

Slamr, do you think that smoothness would be the case with a reel about ten years old? I don't want to send stuff in that isn't going to be worth re-conditioning. What did it cost per Abu?

I just got back a batch of reels from Sportsmans Repair and they averaged about $32 each, but all needed at least a couple of parts in addition to a clean and lube. They feel great, can't wait to get them on the water and give them the real test..

I know a place here in Pa that I sent a reel there and had a gear replaced and cleaned and lubed and it only cost me $11.50 and I had it back in less than a week!!!! It would be worth the shipping.

I send all my stuff to Chuck at Sportsman's Repair. I'm in MN but still mail a box of reels over to Chuck every year in the off season. He's the best I've found.

Another vote for Chuck at Sportman's repair. He's the best...

And if you have some Ambassador reels, he'll give you some great tips on mods you can do to improve the reel substantially. I recommend that you'll call him and ask about it before sending him your reels.
