Location: Land of the Musky | Nothing really new here but thought I would post it. While I have seen a lot of these posted I don't see many when I visit Thorn Bros or Rollie. Anyone really use these types of lures much? While I have some now I don't use these nor do my buddies. Nor really sure why I am thinking of carrying them? LOL
Wood double jointed lures, VMC hooks, yada yada yada. One thing I don't like about these is the fins. I need to change out the fin polymer material to a hard rubber that has little flex in it. Love that micro fiber stuff some of you use. That make for some killer fins and durable as can be. Might be a good thing for the tail section also.

Location: Land of the Musky | Thought about a third belly hook or just going up one size hook for bot the front and back. Right now they go against my rule of thumb about ahving the hook points fall just outside of the body of the lure to help increase hook ups. I need to buy some 3/0 round bend Mustads and try those on them to see how they run. Will add a little more wiehgt to them too. I like these so they just float myself... |

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan | Those look great. I usually don't fish with these type of swimbaits but its mainly because of the price. I'm not going to pay 40-60 bucks for a lure when I can catch fish on a $15 one. I'm sure you would be selling them for much cheaper than most people though so that would probably change my attitude towards swimbaits. |
