Posts: 57 | What has everyone tried? I heard Lime-Away works, and I have tried a mix of vinegar and water. Wasn't that great. Parts of this motor are a plastic whereas another is metal. Just want it to look like new. It is only 2 years old. Thanks.

When done with an area, wipe down with soap and water, and towel dry. I do it all the time to my boats, motors, fishing rods, etc.. Works great, you'll be really impressed.

Wipe dry. If some are still there, just re-do it on the areas that need it... Steve

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | The Works is amazing for getting those hard water stains off of boats, motors, rods, etc.... I just alway make sure to have a bucket of soapy water near or a hose so I can hit it with some water when I am done cleaning it. I'm glad you tried it and liked it!!!

Posts: 57 | I know I put more than a few drops on a rag but it worked. Looks like new again. I tried it on the transom of the boat when I was out there, but didnt see much of a difference. Maybe I'll try it again. I've go to tell the guy at the dealer about it!

Posts: 531 Location: Hugo, MN | I bought some stuff called "Zing" from Nelson Marine in White Bear Lake, and it rocks. Harsh stuff, though. Be careful with the strength of the mix. Ten parts water to one part Zing works for most of the crud. It's basically Hydrochloric acid, so wear some gloves and rinse quickly after a quick wipe down of the dirty area. Couldn't believe how quickly it cleaned the whole boat.
