It's basically a suped up mono correct? How long to the leaders last assuming they're in like new condition?

This will be the first year that i am trying flourocarbon as leader material. I will be using 150# seagar. As far as i know it is how you put it souped up mono. I'm not sure how long a leader will last. And it does stretch, i stretched a 12 inch leader to 13 inches with 55 lbs of pressure. Maybe someone else that has used fourocarbon leaders will chime in and can tell us how long it lasted for them. Hope this helps.

The ones that I have used have lasted quite a while, but one thing I do know is that they seem to get "cloudy" with use. Definitely abrasion resistant and resists bit-offs. When I was using them (I will not be this year) I usually would stay with the same leader for a week or two at most. I'm taking a leave from them due to that "stretch" factor to see if there will be a difference in hook-up rates. So far, my catch rate has not been very good with fluoro, but I could just be in a slump as well...

It does stretch but the amount of force to require it to stretch is quite a bit. If you tried to pick up with youre rod the amount of weight it takes to stretch that 12 to 16 inches of leader the rod would more than likely break before the leader stretched enough to make a difference on a hook set. Its more about your rod rather than the leader.

My 2 cents.
