I don't know quite what this will do, but I had to try combining two of my surface creations in one bait. What do you think?

I am by no means an expert.I like the bait but I think I see a problem.The plastic tail and hook might get tangled or the hook will interfere with the action of the tail.You might want to add a hook near the tail,(on the underside of the lure),or put a hook directly on the plastic tail. I am NOT bashing your lure! I LOVE the way it looks and I know it will catch LOTS of fish! Keep up the good work! Paul

Looks great !!! i think that if you turn the tail down you will get a lot more action out of the lure. And i do like the hook all the way in the back for short nippers, to fix the fowling of the tail on the rear hook you could use shrink tubing. Just my thoughts let us know what you do with it! Still a great idea! shawn

I took your advice Shawn and turned the tail down as well as shrink tubing the back hook. Tomorrow weather permitting I'll take it down to the incoming creek on my local lake and give it a few casts. I've been down by the creek 6 or 7 times in the last week or so and get some crazy looks, but with a foot of ice still on the lake it doesn't leave many options close by. Maybe I am nuts to be down there, but I have only one question; Where the heck is global warming when you need it! After all it's spring already, enough of this snow crap!

Looked pretty good, the front blade makes a decent wake and the tail kind of dances and slaps the water. I just completed a wtd topwater, it walks fairly good.

Thanks Shawn, I've been making bucktails for years and have tried my hand at hard baits from time to time. These so far are the best, as to me catching the big one that would be cool ( missed a fifty last year on one of my bucks), but for now it's more important that Dad puts a big one in the boat. I'll have my day, but him first. Here's a pic of his pb from last year (45") on one of my bucks tied on the spot after seeing what was moving them.

really nice prop bait there - have you considered putting a bigger buzz blade on the front? not that you need to change it, it looks really good.
