Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | gopackgo- I have a 1989 Johnson 150HP. Here's what the service manual says about 90HP, i.e., my service manual covers 88-110 and 150-175. The following 90HP models are covered by this manual : E90MLCE, E90TLCE, E90TXCE, J90MLCE, J90TLCE, J90TXCE, and J90TLAE.
It's probably a good idea to have torque wrench.
Here's a copy of the prop installation page. I would assume there is no difference, i.e., 1989 to 1990. But you might want to check with local dealer.
The V4 instructions don't include the piece of wood 2x4. You'll need that too! See figure 3.
Ooops! just saw you said 1990 4-stroke - didn't know they made 4-stroke back then. You may want to talk to a service tech at your local dealer.
Have fun!
