| Wow, what's going on here? [:bigsmile:] May I be the first to suggest that this particular auction is getting out of hand? It ends tomorrow night and the current bidding has only reached $290. I'd personally suggest taking everything from the net on up and starting a new auction. The net is where I'm bowing out, because while a guy can never have too many baits [:bigsmile:], too many nets is another thing altogether, and a guy's gotta draw a line somewhere.
However, because I am a glutton for punishment with a heart too darn big for my pocketbook's good, I would be willing to go $400 for the total packages offered up til this post, minus the net (I've got 3 already). Otherwise I'd better stick to my $290 level package. There's just such a big jump in there. Steve? Larry? Donnie? If you three agree, I will go $400 for Ashton. |

| Well, I got a bit confused by Steve Jonesi's addition, whether he was in @ $400 or not, I guess, which probably should have been the question, since that bid would have met you and Donnie's conditions. So I suppose I'm holding @ $290 until we hear from him. But for the record, if he's in, I'll go $400. God, please don't let my wife read this. | Man, I was all excited this am. I thought thatthe auction ended last night at midnight. Oh well, another late night hitting the refresh button tonight. Is there any way we can end this at say 10:30 or thereabouts? So that I could get some sleep tonight? | Yep that would be the problem. The object here is to raise as much money for Ashton with these auctions as possible. One way to do this is to get some serious competition in the bidding going. This may not happen if someone slips in an "Ebay" on the rest of the participants. Maybe a minimum bid would help. Say that you have bid $475.00 the next bidder can not bid any lower than $500.00. I see this on ebay all the time. Then at least if you or I slid in just under the gun with a bid Ashton would be the one to benefit. After all, isn't that what we are doing this for any way? Oh yeah, I almost forgot found some more money in an old dirty sock under the bed...........$500.00 is now the bid to beat. If someone goes over this I may have to throw in a Jerk Bait or two. | Ouch, $500 eh? You're making it tough... [:bigsmile:] The ebay cheapie method only works if nobody else is looking. I got into a good 90 second flurry with a guy over a Vanson jacket once upon a time, and it ran up 35% in that last 90 seconds. Get two stubborn guys with cable modems running multiple windows and hitting reload, and BAD THINGS can happen. Got to be a competitive thing rather than a buying thing. LOL
$500, huh? Hmmm... I better balance the checkbook here. I'm tending to think we're getting out of my range, (I was struggling @ $290), but I promise if I make a bid, I will do it before 10pm central time, and I will bid at least $10 increment. Swear on a 50 incher. :) |
