Posts: 72 | I'm considering purchasing a couple Kistler Helium LTA Heavy Fast 7'6" for casting for muskie. I'd really like to hearing from people who have used this rod. What do you think about putting a ABU Garcia Record 50 on this rod for muskie?

Posts: 457 | I have two Kistler's and I like them but I'd rather sink the money into a Loomis, really, after having fished the Kistler.

Posts: 133 Location: WV | For the money I would go with a loomis too. It took me some time to realize this but my brother finally beat it into me. Loomis is very good and you have it for life.

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | I have 6 Kistler Rods for bass fishing, use them for Muskie, NO to lite, maybe in the spring time for small spinners, I think Kistler has a swim bait rod, ck out the HE711TXHC is rated at 1/2-3oz that is the heavy rod for Kistler. Don't they still have musky blanks? I could have sworn they did.

Posts: 38 Location: Iowa City, Iowa | Check out tackletour.com for evaluations of swimbait and other rod types which could possibly be used for muskies. I have a couple of Kistler rods I like for bass & was considering the Kistler swimbait rod. Now the Okuma GS-C-71111 MH has my attention for lighter swimbaits.

Posts: 457 | I was looking on kistler North America, and it looks like they've done away with any of the heavier rods that would really have worked. They had a series of Salt rods that would have been perfect swimbait/bucktail rods.
