| Hello from Illinois.
I am going to Miami of Ohio this weekend for a graduation. I wanted to get out and do some fishing on Satuday. Are there any good muskie lakes near Oxford?
Thanks,
Scott |

| My guess is the closest one to you would be Ceasar's Creek Lake, they were stocked in there just a few years ago and from what I see on the gofishohio.com Southwest page, are in the two-foot range now. That's about a 1.5-2 hour drive east from Oxford. Your closest lake is Houston Woods, just go there and go bass fishing, enjoy your weekend on a pretty lake and have a fine dinner at the lodge. As we say here in Athens, Muck Fiami. m[] |

| Thanks Mikie. How far is Houston Woods from Oxford? It sounds like that is my only option. |

| Acton Lake and Hueston Woods state park look to be 5-7 miles from you. Call 1-800-BUCKEYE and ask for travel info for the area, or 800-AT-A-PARK for state park brochures. You might also check out www.dnr.state.oh.us for fishing and license info, or go to gofishohio.com and post in thier Anglers Forum - southwest. I haven't been to that area for quite a while. Seemed there was a large lake just over the border in Indiana that my dad used to fish - Bloomington Lake?? something, check a map, that may not be much farther for you. good fishing! m[] |

| According to the Ohio Husky Muskie Club, Caesars Creek didn't produce many fish (at least that were reported) last year. Cowan Lake might be a better bet to try. Muskies were also stocked in Rocky Fork Reservoir at one time, but stockings ceased in 1997. The western half of Ohio doesn't have the muskie lakes that the eastern half does, especially the northeast. |
