Posts: 376 Location: Cudahy, Wisconsin | I have a 2002 Esox Mag with a Minnkota maxxum on the bow right now. I want to swap it out with a Terrova. The question is when I take off the maxxum what should I do with the holes that will be showing? Can I put a stainless bolt in them with silicone? Edited by TUFFY 3/3/2008 5:10 PM

Posts: 385 | You can use the quickrelase system made by minnkota with the adapter plate to acccomadate the old holes. It should tidey it up nicely.

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | I made the same swap and also couldn't find a conversion plate that would work, and really didn't want a quick release plate anyhow. So, I taped the bottoms of the old holes with electrical tape, then filled the holes with good silicon(you could use Marine Tex if worried), then put the rubber diamond matting over the whole bow cap, this after redrilling the holes in the proper place and poking the holes in the diamond matting. Should now be water tight, and I have the diamond matting on the cap that I liked on other rigs(great grip and gell coat protection for stepping in and out). Posts: 516 Location: Kildeer, IL | I would use Gorrilla glue or Epoxy and a doll rod. Cover a small section of doll rod in glue, and then stick it in the hole and break it off (it helps to notch the rod first). Then cover the top of the rod with another drop or two of Gorrilla glue/Epoxy.

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Here is the link for the diamond matting I bought. I did have to add a bit of marine goop to a few edges to help it stick better, and it has been great. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=00237...
