Now I don't mean to alarm anyone. But I want to know if you have been receiving strange e-mails saying something about:

Norton AntiVirus report - 19.txt

I have been receiving a lot of these. And now I hear other Muskie fisherman are getting them. As a suggestion I highly recommend that if you do receive one of these strange messages in your e-mail. DO NOT OPEN IT. I believe its a virus.

If you have opened one of these messages I strongly recommend you run a virus scan on your system.

Please post anything that you may have notice that might pertaining to this subject. Thanks.

Nathan Wright

there is a virus going around called something like ww.klez32@mm. If you get an unsolicited e-mail talking about norton update with an exe. program, it is most likely the virus. Just make sure your anti virus DATS are up to date and you should be OK. Norton i think has a special Klez update as well.

I just spent all day getting a virus off my computer. It came attached to an email titled "Helvetica". I had to format my hard drive and reinstall everything. I lost all my files. Worst part of all is that I know better than to open any attachments from someone I do not know. Learned this one the hard way.

Fred, the problem is this virus is coming from people you know. They are not sending it. The virus program is automatically going into their e-mail address book and sending them with their return address. So it might appear that its coming from someone you know, when its not. Just avoid opening unsolicited attachments and you should be ok.

With the "Klez" virus you don't even have to open any attachments, once the infected e-mail downloads into your mailbox it's too late. Norton and McAfee will prevent it from infecting your computer if you set it to scan all e-mails.

I just received the Amish virus, it went something like this:
You have just received the Amish virus. Since we don't use computers or electricity, you are on the honor system. Please delete all your files. Thank thee.
