Mine don't fish but she'll sit in the boat if we go to the Keys or up north. Never comes with when I fish by home. Never bought me a lure but did buy me a photo album for fish pics and set it up for me. That was cool.

sheesh..some of you guys actually have lady friends that give you valentines presents, then on top of that, GO fishing with you..?!?! man, i gave up lookin for her .. chicks around here instantly want to know what you do for a living so they can determine how much bling you make. instant turn off for me.. im surely not against having them in the boat from time to time..but, i will side with hulbert and sled on this one.. they do take your mind off the game..

Those of you who think that women get in the way of fishing, obviously just haven't found the right one yet. Trust me, we girls can hold our own out there and there's nothing sexier than a man who will let we throw his favorite lure (or, make a special lure just for us). If you think otherwise, grow up and welcome to the 21st century.

Oh, and Mike...for a "chick" to get in the way of your fishing, there would actually have to be a lady willing to spend time alone on a boat with you. Obviously, hasn't happened yet.

I am lucky to have an awesome girlfriend. She got me a fly tying kit....hopefully I can tie some flies for muskies. And hopefully I can put her on her first ski this season!! (what's even better is she is making dinner while I am sitting on M1st)

Well of course not...not me.....

Now on the flip side...I have also never met anybody that told me gettng married really helped the amount of time they get on the water!!! LOL

You've met one. Me.
But that's because she's a big part of the company. So she tells me to get out there and fish or we're not networking.

Hulbert's right. I fished WAY more when I was single. I enjoy fishing (and hunting) WAY more now that I'm married.

Here's my worthless opinion on this particular subject:

Anybody who tells you that fishing is more important than the love of a good woman, is probably too self absorbed to fully appreciate either one.

I spent valentines day flying out to see my kids for the weekend, good enough for me. Just made the plane with 5 minutes to spare!

I agree, finding the right woman can make or break everything you do, and for a woman the same is true.

Awww, yes, the very independent Julie! Ben, you are one very lucky guy! You got more than just her liking to fish. You got one of a kind! I mean that in a good way Ben! Not only does she like to fish, but she works in the industry, you can't find someone that doesn't understand fishing more than her! You are lucky!

As a girl friend my wife fished with me all the time. As a wife she gets out on special occations. I can honestly say getting married has no effect on my fishing time. I still fish 5 to 6 days a week on average but the kids are with me far more than the wife. I guess she likes the quiet time when me and the kids are out.

Watching my kids grow into outdoorsmen is something special. Not getting a women to share that part of life with you must be lonly. But there is always the muskies to keep the single guys happy.

Finding a woman to share the outdoors with is hard to do. Not every woman likes it. The lucky guys who find the woman to share that with are blessed with each other. I know I am.
