Posts: 71 Location: Waukesha, WI | I'm wondering if some of you have caught a fish that would qualify as legal on the trophy Canadian waters. Have any of you been in a boat with someone who caught a a 54" fish either on the Canadian Lakes with the 54" limit or elsewhere? I only hope that some day it happens. I was at Big Narrows 2 years ago when a gentleman caught a 57.5 incher and came back to camp with the pictures. The biggest fish in my boat is 50.5.

3 fish over 54" in the boat, girth did not make it a trophy in our opinion.... nice fish though

Posts: 97 | Never seen or heard anyone in camp catch a "legal". I think the biggest in camp for the weeks we've been up has been 52". The resorts for the year stick bigger ones throughout the year, but never when we were up.

Posts: 906 Location: Warroad, Mn | True 54" fish are very rare on the LOTWs. In 40 years of trying for lots of days I've had four fish 54" or bigger, with a fair number of 53"er. However, there are lots of nice fish around from 48" to 52". After that they seem to become very scarce regardless what everyone tell you. Eastern Ontario and Quebec offer a better chance at a 54"er. The biggest fish in NW Ontario seem to be located in Lac Suel. Minnesota probably offers one the best chances for a 54"er right now. Doug Johnson
