Posts: 117 | Would like to get your take on this... "Muskies on the Shield" Would you describe this book as good info for any lake besides shield lakes? Thanks for the input!

Location: Athens, Ohio | Yep, the fish pictured in my avatar was a direct result of Dick's teachings, and it was caught in Ohio a month after I read the book. "Muskies like disorder" or something like that. This one came in at such a spot. The formulas work. m

Posts: 2753 Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | IMHO, it's one of the best muskie books ever written. It has information that can be applied to any muskie water, including rivers and resevoirs, i.e., not just shield lakes. It doesn't matter whether you're a old pro or a novice, if you don't have this book, you are making a serious mistake! Have fun! Al

You can take the knowledge from that book and apply it to most any lake. Highlight for me is going to be fishing with the author this summer and watching/learning from him on how to apply the tactics up close and in person!!!!!!

Posts: 999 | Mr Pearson has spent more time on the Canadian Shield lakes then we can all dream about combined. He took all of this knowledge that he has gained over the years good and bad and put his heart and soul into this book and video for that fact. Dick is unbelievable on the woods. He tells it like it is. Pay attention, fish hard, fish smart and Read Dick's book like 25 times! And catch his DVD. And you'll be heading to the woods with a much better understanding!! Mr Musky

Posts: 785 | The book is based on covering shield lakes, and in detail LOTW but it has some interesting lure presentation tips, and does a good job showing the difference in fishing strategies for clear versus stained water. Also even though it is refering to "classic" shield structure I think the fish movements described in the book can be easily adapted to your lake.

Posts: 781 Location: Ames, Iowa | I checked Amazon for Time on the Water and they want about 20 bucks + shipping. I have a perfect copy of Muskies on the Shield and have read most parts of it quite a few times. Is anyone willing to swap books for awhile? Don
