Hello all, I'm a college kid falling in love with 'skie huntin' and currently have two muskies to my name. I tie a lot of flies and recently have been making big bucktails, but I'd really like to start making some Jerkbaits. I was wondering if anyone could post materials and methods? Thanks...

Spend some time using the "search" mode and you will figure out most of it. Methods from beginning to end is a long discussion and you will probably have better luck asking for "specifics". A good place to start is at this site, once there click on "jerkbaits": http://www.lurebuilding.nl/indexeng.html

have fun,

I am woulld like to try to make a jerk bait. As I've been looking around for supplies I'm wondering where is a good place to get lead from? I see stamina sells it in a 1 lb. brick but I'm wondering if theres a place I can buy it in smaller pieces so I don't have to melt it down or anything like that. Any help would be great.

Lead bullets work great,
figure out how much weight you need , buy size needed, drill and epoxy in bait. also if you need to melt some, just use a stainless ladel, measuring spoon etc and a torch..Good luck....Doug

Also Decoy lead
fishing weights
buckshot
tire weights

Guest,
I can help you out. I've got lead in cylinders that work real well for gliders, jerk baits, etc. They come in 1/2 and 3/8 oz. I use them on my lures, they work great. Give me a call Monday and I'll hook ya up. (715) 892-1395.
