Location: Land of the Musky | Anyone have a lure holder made out of lexan or something clear or know where people buy these? I need soemthing to take pictures of my lures but need the lures off of the surface. I have a setup but I think the lure holder woudl work better. Looked for frame holders but no luck..

Location: Land of the Musky | Thanks! I actually need a photo booth. I have a few good descriptions of them. Best pictures I have ever seen are the ones Andy from Shack Attack takes. I have seen some of his and they look 3D almost. Doubt he will take pictures of my new swimbaits though  His lures have some great vivid colors in them and he really gets them to come out in his photos. I need to learn! Photos and videos sell lures. Guys don't want to pay for something they have never seen worked or look like crap in pictures. |

Location: Minnesota | The easiest way to do this is to work with a photographer. If you want to do it yourself you can start looking around on photography websites or asking photographers about shooting tents or enclosed softboxes. They are basically a white material that is like a pop up blind but fits on a table top. You add light from a few different directions depending on the effect you want and you take a picture through the opening in the front. You need some good lights for this too. You can play around with hanging them on string or something in the box or setting them on a backdrop.
More important than the holder is the lighting and the quality of photo being taken. Multidirectional lighting is very important. Those are my $.02 |

| James,
Most of us who collect baits like the 1914 South Bend Musky Minnow pictured, use Lexan stands . For reference, the body of the bait is 5 1/2". These were readily available up to a month ago, but the maker passed away. They can still be found on places like Ebay. Let me know how many you need and I will see what I can do, no guarantees.

If your camera has manual modes, you may be able to adjust the white balance to a hot light and the camera will compensate for the yellow so you have a decent looking photo. Play around with it and you should be able to get it close. I have used some work lights and used custom white balance to get the color right.
