Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Handyman, I have an Olympus Stylus 800 (8 mega pixels) that I got about a year and a half ago. I ordered it from Sams Club with a remote control (RM-1) Its water resistant and takes great shots. Olympus phone 888-553-4448/ 631-844-5000 Jerome

Posts: 43 Location: Warrenville,IL | Get a flip screen. Trust me on this one. If you're going solo you'll need it. Edited by jamie 3/6/2008 7:00 AM

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Good point, mentioning cameras with a remote. My film rig(Olympus stylus epic) has a remote, and comes in so handy when alone. A quick click of the button in the hand supporting the belly, and a perfect shot(after some practice with spacing) every time. However, my digital(the shock/waterproof version of the olympus digital) doesn't work with the remote, and I am wondering if I made a mistake with this rig. Finally, I see that the new Olympus stylus rigs don't come with weather resistance anymore, which was always a nice feature of the olympus. Now, one needs to buy the shock/waterproof model which is ok, but more expensive and might not take the remote..?... Any experts with more insight on this? Cannot seem to find anything on their website.
